Sonar X1 tempo control

Does X1 have: Midi assignable tap-tempo, Midi assignable record start/stop, & Midi assignable "on the fly" tempo change?

Sonar definitely needs more complete tempo features.

Totally. The next DAW that has what I asked for above, get's my money. Ableton almost has it, but it's way too convoluted.
I'm sick of bloatware, and just want to have a simplified way to have the DAW obey me realtime, and not vice-versa. To me, it's weird that I can get more "on the fly" functionality out of 25 year old drum machines, than state of the art DAW's. My workflow 25 years ago, into my old Tascam 4 track, and drum machine was better than any workflow a major DAW has offered yet.
At this point, I will use any DAW that offers these working features: Midi assignable tap-tempo, Midi assignable record start/stop & playback, and Midi assignable "on the fly" tempo change.

FWIW, MIDI assignable record start and stop can be done in Sonar 8 (and probably quite a few earlier versions as well), so it's safe to assume it'll be there in X1.

If you intend on controlling Sonar, then Sonar must be set up as slave.

Why not use your drum machine to control the whole works?  Should work slicker than snot on a door knob.

I guess I got fixated on the idea of workflow that could be assigned to a midi foot pedal, and forgot that the transport functions already can be assigned.
So, I guess the feature I'm looking for is Midi assignable tap-tempo. I'm also not sure if or how "on the fly" tempo changes could be done.
I would simply like to be able to tap the desired tempo or tempo change with my foot, and then hit another footswitch to insert the new tempo, on the fly. Can this be done?
