Audio plays only through laptop speakers

I am using Sonar 8 PE on an HP Pavillion, using the ASIO driver.

I am only able to playback audio using my speaker output (laptop speakers)...

I need to be able to playback through my headphones using my HpOut, but when I use this output there is no playback.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you,
Chris

Firstly, this your issue has nothing to do with Sonar. I sounds like you need to go to your sound cards audio control panel and turned up the output jack. Does media player work?
Sonar works much better with a audio interface  USB or Firewire
    Are you using ASIO4all?

have a look in your default devices / see if you can enable it within windows.. you don't say what version you use.. in older windows it's under volume level in accessories

but as stated already if you using asio4all isn't the ideal / best solution.. and maybe it's the way the driver itself is written.. have you this problem in say MME or WDM mode ?

    Thank you for the feedback.

I am using windows vista, and my headphone output is both enabled and turned all the way up.

    I am running ASIO4all.

When I run in MME mode, I am unable to playback through my laptop speakers or the headphone jack.

When I run in WDM mode, I am able to play back through the headphone jack, but the track plays extremely slow and with heavy distortion.

My media player and other audio plays fine through the headphone jack, as long as I am not running Sonar.

    Thanks for the help

Once again, an unsuccessful attempt to use on board sound card with Sonar. Seems to rarely work properly and the purchase of a interface may be required.
From what read here on the forum, asio4all usually get's things working. But every computer seems to be a little different so what works for one might not work on another.

I just do not understand why I am able to get perfect playback through my laptop's built-in speakers when using ASIO4all, but no playback at all through the headphone jack...
