Don't get the Studio Instrument Bass

Ok, so I find the bass riff I like.  The riff is in  C.  So, I want to transpose it to the key of my song which is G.  So, I use the arrows on the top for transpose to drop it down 5 steps.  Now I drag and drop that pattern to my song.  so far so good.  But, the next measure has the C chord, so  I move the transpose back to C (0), and drag and drop that.  Now I would expect to have a bass riff in G,then the next one in C.  Yet, both are in C.   How do I move the primary note around?

I hope I've explained this right.  So far, I'm blown away by GTP4.  But this transposition concept is killing me.

Thank in advance.

Well, followed the instructions on that thread exactly, and though it seemed to work for the person originally posing the question, It didn't for me.

Anyone further help from anyone will be much appreciated.

My solution was to buy a bass guitar.

Enjoying it so much more than I thought I would!
