MC5 and Saffire 56

Hey,

Just after some advice, i have MC5 and a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56, recently purchased from a well known music shop
The problem is getting audio from all 8 channels on the saffire to MC5, it seems to only want to pick up the first couple of channels, i have tried the various audio options on MC5 but still cant seem to figure it out.

i noticed one thread on here stating that mC5 is 4 in/out, does that mean it cant handle the 8 channels from the Saffire56??

any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance

Neil

Music creator only allows 2 simultaneous inputs.  you have to upgrade to Sonar Home Studio in order to use all of the inputs of the Saffire.

thanks for that, thought that might be the case

it is as simple as downloading the upgrade from the site, do i need to reinstall MC5 or keep that as well???

sorry for the questions, first time user for computer recording, thought it would be a simple process at first

    thanks

I don't think SONAR Home Studio is downloadable. You can order it from the Cakewalk store at your upgrade price and they'll send you the DVD.
Are you wanting to record a band?

MC5 is a separate program. There are no upgrades for MC5. It is considered to be a beginners DAW with limited inputs and other things.

You will need to buy one of the more advanced programs described to allow the Saffire to address the other 6 channels.

they can coexist on the same computer, you can use either once you install SHS and you can use the softsynths and plugins from both in both programs.

I don't understand what value you're adding to the question's answer.  the OP didn't ask for a press release description of the saffire - he asked about recording multiple channels simultaneously in MC using the saffire, which can't be done as we've already stated.
