Upgrade to Intel 5400 4.0..suitable?

Current spec.     AMD SEMPRON 2800+....1.60ghz..... Sonar producer 7
 
About to purchase an upgrade motherboard and processor, the Intel 5400 4.0Ghz + M.board +4Gb memory
 
will this be a big improvement? I'm not looking for hyper speed, just solid soft synth recording which I'm not getting at present. Will this package suffice?
