Is this system fast enough?

Hi Im sort of new to dual core systems and am shopping for a new laptop to use with cakewalk sonar 8.5 producer edition.  ...Im curious if a laptop w/these specs will be fast enough: Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processor SU7300
Features 2 processing cores, 800MHz system bus, 3MB cache and 1.3GHz processor speed per core.

4GB DDR3 SDRAM
For multitasking power, expandable to 8GB
....Info is greatly appreciated...Thanks in Advance:)

System Requirements from CAKEWALK's web page on SONAR 8.5..... even though the minimum specs are what they are, that is a recommended minimum. I have, in the past, run Cakewalk on a less then recommended minimum computer and it ran. Some of the processes were slower than they should have been. It will very likely run but not well if you are below the minimum specs. As cheap as processing power is these days it should be easy to get above the minimum.

    Operating System*
    Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2 (32 and 64-bit), or Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit)

    Processor Speed
    Minimum:
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz [EMT64] or AMD Athlon XP 2800+ or higher

    Recommended:
Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz or AMD Phenom Quad Core 9750 2.4GHz or higher

    RAM
    Minimum:
    1 GB

    Recommended:
    4 GB

    Graphics
    Minimum:
    1024 x 768, 16-bit color

    Recommended:
    1280 x 960, 24-bit color or higher
*SONAR does not officially support Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP x64 or pre-release (RTM) versions of Windows7

If your managing fairly modest projects that don't use a lot of power hungry soft-synths and effects, then you'll be fine. Some folks here are still using Pentium 4 processors (as I was just a year and a half ago).

One more thought, you'll be much better off with a 7200rpm drive. You might want to check that on the lappy your thinking about.

The SU7300 Intel CPU is more of a netbook meets laptop processor.  If budget is your concern, look for a Core i3 based laptop to run Sonar 8.5.
