Strange thing happening in a session (PE 8.5)
I re-visited a session that I haven't opened in a few months. I found 2 strange occurrences. First, when I unfreeze any track it shifts my audio to the left. A good ways to the left, like 10 seconds to the left. When I undo the unfreeze it goes back to normal. So, I'm thinking this is strange, but no huge deal. I just chalk it up as a weird bug, and manually line my audio tracks back up. Then (separate issue, same session) I had a reverb as a send/ return to a vocal track. I removed the reverb plugin and replaced it with another. But it's not sending any effect. No matter how much mix a dial in it will not send any effect to the track. That was late last night. I have not tried to create a new send. I have only tried the send that was already created in this particular session. Has anyone ever heard of either of these? And (perhaps more important) did everything I just wrote actually make sense? If not let me know and I'll try to explain it better. Thanks!

Version 8.5 (Producer). I wrote that in the title, but not the actual post. My apologies.

I've had similar issues with sends once or twice (on 5PE). Would have thought they had things like that fixed 3.5 versions down the road...sigh.

I had a reverb as a send/ return to a vocal track. I removed the reverb plugin and replaced it with another. But it's not sending any effect. No matter how much mix a dial in it will not send any effect to the track. Just to be clear, this reverb plug is on a bus, and there is a send on the vocal track to that bus? Normally, in this case, you would set the mix control on the plug to 100%, and use the send level on the track to control the reverb level. Also, the reverb would "return" to the Master bus, not to the track. In any case, if it's a convolution reverb like Perfect Space, do you have an impulse loaded?

Yes, reverb is on a bus. And even when I increase mix to 100% - still no effect. And that means 100% on the track send and 100% wet mix within the plugin, as well. Also - the problem is not just reverb. I've open various plugins (just to test it) and still nothing. Thanks!

Ok, I just got home and created a new bus, inserted a plugin, created a send on a vocal track and it worked perfectly. Still does not work on the pre-existing send (that did indeed work in the past when I worked on this session). That is indeed strange. Unfreezing audio tracks still shift the audio to the left. And that includes newly frozen tracks (in other words, tracks i froze last night after I re-visited this session).

I unfreeze any track it shifts my audio to the left. A good ways to the left, like 10 seconds to the left. When I undo the unfreeze it goes back to normal. Just to be sure, did you move these clips after yopu froze them or change the project tempo? As you may know, any edits done to a frozen clip will be undone when its frozen. Cj

Did you do any automation write for the original plugin? It is possible that some of the parameters for the original reverb are still written on the bus and have are controlling a different parameter in the new plugin if that was the case.

Still does not work on the pre-existing send (that did indeed work in the past when I worked on this session). Is the Send enabled? (i.e. the On/Off button is lit green)?. Sometimes users mistake the On/Off button in the track for the Pre/Post toggle, and leave it off. This has never happened to me BTW.
