V studio info for Newbie

hello...Im a newbie to computer recording and thinking of buying the V studio 100 with an A500 contoller keyboard.I plan to record my tunes with the built in drums/bass/keys using the VS software1..Can you get pro results or is this amateur grade.2. are they planning on a newer version.I always seem to buy stuff and then a month or so later a new format/version comes out.3.Is this one a mainstay knowing Cakewalks rep for upgrades.Id like to learn this and then upgrade to Producer/X1 once the learning curve is met.Any thoughts for a newbie appreciated!

    wutsup,

    1) the stock "instruments" are not intended to be cream of the crop. if you record the midi data you can always upgrade the samples. rapture le and dimension le are supposedly very good. i don't play keys -  can't speak from experience. the hardware is of very good quality and sonar vs is a good daw to learn on and still have the essentials to make great sounding stuff. it's also really nice for live vox and the sd recorder sounds awesome with good mics (wish it was four tracks). it's a well rounded unit. i would like to have a laptop to use with it on the road, it could be very powerful that way.

    2) i am unaware of plans for a new model of the vs 100.

    3) ? same as 2.
