Perfect Space ?

Since owning sonar I dont think I ever used perfect space, until last week , I had some snares and claps sent to a bus which I added perfect space with a plate reverb, some tuning , I got it to sound pretty good, all worked fine , after a few more hrs of programming , My cpu redlined and was pinned .Crash...Note now it works perfect for about 3 mins at a time then without warning it redlines.. I deleted perfect space no more crashing. my cpu is no more that 15-20 percent.  Am I doing something wrong? dose perfect space have issues? Thanks John

I was using it and then upgraded to the full package Pristine Space.

Both seem stable.

Did you make any adjustments on any of the "knobs" or just load a IR?

Those extra parameters will let you push the CPU into the red if you misuse them... so I am pointing out the possibility just in case it's something simple like that.

I did try different latency's no change.. ,Mike  I did adjust a bunch of knobs ,so I suspect thats it, So I just won't use it, no biggie .. 

There are no known issues with PerfectSpace AFAIK. It's been stable and unchanged for quite awhile. It is, however, a serious CPU-muncher -- as are all convolution effects. It's the kind of effect that you typically add during the mixing process, after you're done tracking and you can up the audio buffers accordingly (4096 samples is recommended).

The higher the internal latency, the more efficient PS is, so you'll probably want to set it to one of the highest values (16384 or 32768). (That's PS's internal latency, not your audio buffer size.) Click on the Info button and then click on "Set Latency" to change it.

Using PS's internal EQ also increases its CPU load. I normally don't use it, preferring instead an external lightweight EQ such as the Sonitus EQ.

The size of the IR file affects CPU usage, too. If you want a short reverb, don't start with a long one and shorten it up - find a suitable short impulse instead.

ahh Thanks guys for the info, Like I said I was touching everything twisting every knob. Was just using my ears to find the sound I was looking for,  I ended up changing the samples sounds and found something better ..but
 I probably won't turn to perfect space , just cause I really dont know much about convolution effects. beside what Bit just said. "That its typically use during the mix process." I was thinking of using it on a bus with my claps snare , and rim shot I had, to give it all a nice gluing sound so to say. I tried the Pantheon but liked what I had with perfect space, accept for the cpu redlining , I did end up with a better end result by changing the sounds .
  Billy I will end up reinstalling soon when I get X1... Then I will give it try again. I'm sure its a user error on this one,
