Project just hates to close...
I've got a fairly large project that saves fine...opens fine...but hangs Sonar when closing. Most likely suspect?? PE8.5.3 64bit, Core i7 3ghz, 12gigs mem, Win 7 64bit

What MIDI devices do you have connected to your pc? Most times its caused by a MIDI controller not wanting to close out Cj

Lessee, I've got my Alesis QS8 main keboard controller, a Korg nano, a Korg padKontrol, and and Alesis Control Pad. But it's only this project that hangs on closing.

If the project itself won't close, then we can focus on what's in the project. Edit: Of course that could be what you're saying! Brian

If you have a large number of VSTi's it may taking it's sweet time writing all of the instruments states as well. I've noticed this when I started using some larger more sophisticated Virtual instruments lately.

I've let the little "wait circle" go on spinning for quite a while before bailing. But I'll try waiting longer. And CJ, how come a midi controller would just effect this one project?

A VSTi would seem the most logical culprit. You could try making a copy of the project, and start removing virtual instruments from the copy until the hang stops.

Korg nano, a Korg padKontrol Hi Ol Pal, The Korg USB MIDI driver is notorious for hanging Sonar when exiting.

Maybe unplugging the nano would force the driver to give up waiting and let SONAR close?
