Audio interface problems...please help!

Since I bought a new/used computer that is running on Vista, I have not been able to get Sonar 6 to recognize the sound interface, which is a Layla 24/96. I have tried all the usual stuff (i.e. Loaded Layla's updated drivers, shut the machine down and restarted, unplugged peripherals, etc.). I've tried to find the driver with 'Wave Pro-filer'. The computer does have a Realtek sound interface which I have not taken out yet...do i need to?

I have been able to use the interface. midi and audio, with other programs, and it works fine. I cannot figure out why Sonar is struggling with it.

I've been on hold with Sonar tech support for twenty minutes as I'm writing this. Any help would be wonderful

    did you try ASIO driver mode?

    OPTIONS>AUDIO>ADVANCED>DRIVER MODE = ASIO
    click OK
    close and restart Sonar 6.

    If SONAR doesn't recognize the interface, it's because Windows doesn't recognize the interface. If Windows doesn't recognize the interface, it's because an appropriate driver could not be found or did not respond. Make sure you have the correct Layla driver for your O/S.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
