Connecting Soft Synths

Hi!

I am new to Sonar and experiencing some basic problems hoping someone can help.

If I click on the synth rack and add a synth, then draw in some midi data on the piano roll and play it, I get no sound. I can see it is triggering something on the meter but not getting through to the output.

I know my sound card is working because if I drop some audio onto an audio channel it plays back fine.

Any suggestions?

    Have you tried just adding a synth by selecting from the Insert menu instead of the synth rack?

    This way you should end up with a midi track for the synth and the synth will also appear in the synth rack.

    SONAR Platypus on Win10 64bit.
    Studio One Pro / Cubase Pro 9.5...just in case.

    Thanks, I just tried that and I'm getting the exact same result.

    The signal from the synth is not reaching the master output.


    Any other ideas?

    Actually I just sussed it out!

    I found the output routing at the bottom of the mixer channel.

    I think its solved :)
