How to build a PRS Guitar

http://www.premierguitar....uild_a_PRS_Guitar.aspx

I've been doing a lot of research lately on PRS guitars and ran across this video series that goes through their plant and documents the various construction phases.

I bought my first PRS tonight off ebay and can't wait to receive it.

Thanks for the link Mark and congratulations!
Anxious to see your new guitar. Great choice IMO.

PRS has a rack for curing the freshly glued
fretboards to the necks. The rack has cubicles to hold
many necks and each cubicle has "pillows" that are filled
to determined air pressure. (sorry I don't have the video link for you..I'll try to find it)

This is a 1991 PRS CE-24.  It has an alder body with maple top.  Neck is maple with rosewood fretboard.  Inlays are abalone.  I hope to receive it in a week or so.

Cool videos Mark, I walked out of the store with my PRS in 87 or 88. Still have it and love it.

Great you found an early one with a tremolo, even if you don't use it. I was reading the early hard tail PRS's had no intonation adjustment.

Thanks guys.  From what I've read the '91 CE-24 is a very desirable guitar.  The later versions went from 24 to 22 frets and the neck heel became much larger and supposedly harder to play.  The body switched from alder to mahogany.  They call these pre-factory because it was built before the move to the new factory.

I hated pulling the trigger on this one but I just couldn't let it go by.  I also recently purchased a used 4x12 marshall 1960a cab and a JCM 900 marshall head.  And an Ibanez JS100 guitar.  So I need to be cool for a while.  This was my christmas for myself.
