Great career. My wife and I were talking about "Forbidden Planet" last night.

Thing is Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, George Kennedy and Leslie Nielson had all played straight roles until Airplane. Effective humour is often at the expense of somebody else or is risque. Airplane and the way these masters worked the script was just pure hilarity without any of these taints. This sad news, by my last reckoning leaves George as the last man standing out of that quartet. True greats all of them, and they will all be sorely missed.

Great career. My wife and I were talking about "Forbidden Planet" last night.
One of the best movies ever made! Even the CHB can't touch that one ... it was also the first electronic soundtrack ever used on film, btw ... and Disney did the animal animation but did not want the credit for it as they did not want to be affiliated with a bad movie ... and look where it stands today!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

You know he also invented the "Leslie"effect common on B3s.
