Hi Music Creator 3 help please

Hi all first time here so please be gentle. Got MC 3 going again after all these years and cant seem to work out how to record individual tracks without getting the previous tracks recording onto the one im doing. Hope that makes some sense.??
All help would be much appreciated.

In your sound card's mixer options, there may be an option like "Stereo Mix" or "WhatUHear". Turn that off (uncheck it).
What is your sound card? What operating system are you using?
    Welcome to the forum.
Edit: Jeez, Bob, how can you be on the SHS forum and here at the same time?
You must have clicked over at the same time I did. :-)

    Let us know.
The screens in my thread are from XP using the Realtek AC97, so you should be seeing the same thing.

    ahhhhhhhhhhh  check here:

With a project open, (this is imperative as choices are different if you have nothing open)
go to Options > global > editing > and in there you'll see the options to choose between blending old with new and / or replacing old with new........

    Sure hope that helps.
