what is currently the best mobile processar for a DAW that uses a lot of softsynths?

An i7 620m was recommended by JSchild but since then an i7 740QM and also a i7 640m was introduced.  The 740QM supports the faster 1300Mhz memory and like its predecessor has 4 cores.  It would be interesting to see how it would perform in a benchmark against the 640m which is only a dual core but does have the faster clock speed per core.  But since my DAW set-up will be utilizing a lot of softsynths, plugins, etc., I am wondering if the 4 core processor would be better suited for my set-up.  If speed and latency aren't that big of a difference between the two, maybe the 740QM should be my choice but I'd like to get a second or third opinion.

I have the i7 740m/with turbo technology up to 2.93 GHz, i use it with my Dell laptop computer.... it seem to be very stable with no issue at all.
Yes it is 1.7 GHz but still a powerful processor

Usually, when comparing current CPUs in a similar product line, the higher priced ones are faster.  Maybe they aren't designed for your favorite plugin, but overall, the higher priced ones are faster.  And usually, faster = more plugins all around.

not as far as  mobile quads are concerned...

    http://www.adkproaudio.com/benchmarks.cfm

    first test orange vs purple...
low latency the quad goes belly up quick
