Sweet.
needs backup singers.
Thanks!

I tried to keep it as true to the original as possible. No backups in the original iirc. Been a while since I heard it. :)

This was well done overall. It's mixed up "LOUD!" When it came on I had to grab my ear buds off my head. The vocals and harmonies, very nice. And the bass and drums. The only thing I would tweak in a few places in the electric tremolo guitar. For the most part, it was spot on, but in just a couple of parts, I would punch in. In this genera and song, "it's all out there." You can't hide things in the mix like you can in other songs/generes. So all things considerded, a 9 out of 10 IMO.

All you need is love, just ask the Beatles?

Hi Robby,

Ya know, funny you mention that guitar part. There was something really odd with that project. No matter what I did to that tremelo guitar part, I couldn't get the volume to even out. Tried gain envelopes, volume envelopes, took out all VST's. I struggled with it for hours then finally gave up and called it good. I think that project got corrupted. IIRC, it won't open anymore and all I have left are the master wav and mp3.

Glad you liked it. Thanks!

Bub.

@daryl: Thanks, glad you liked it. The tremelo was a preset in Guitar Rig Pro 4, don't remember which one.
@Lynn: Thank you.
@daryl1968: Thanks.
@ProjectM: Thank you.
@foxwolfen: Thanks. It's always good when you can appreciate what went in to something that you don't particularly care for.
@shawn: Thanks!!
@Jonbouy: Thank you. This shameless plug seemed to work out real well. ;)
@Beagle: "best I've heard from you" Wow! Thanks. The hard panning on this was a style that was popular in country music back in the early 60's. I think, not sure, that it was at the dawn of stereo and they went haywire with it. A lot of country tunes from back then were hard panned like this. I struggled with that clink sound. :)
@ProjectM: Two responses in one thread? Wow! Thanks! :)

I wish I remembered more about this project. It was a couple years ago and the original project can't be opened anymore. Something went kablooey in it. A lot of times I'll put notes in there, but if you can't open it ...

The hardest part of the whole song was getting the snare and acoustic to mesh. I remember spending a lot of time on that.

Oh, the other thing was the vocals. That old Peavey mic I used sounded horrible. Funny though, long after I recorded this, I got a mic pre with input impedance. I adjust it and it sounds every bit as good as my Blue Bluebird. There's $300 bucks I didn't have to spend. Doh! :)

Perfect!

Oklahoma?  Red River!  Sounds like home, as does the song.  Quite nice!

I think it even deserves a new profile picture. :)  (I know...mine should be updated too...if I weren't related to three professional photographers, maybe I could get a new one too.)  :)

Great job!

Great job Bub.

I don't know the song so I can't say how true you were to original but your voice does not sound like the Buck Owens I know. None the less you sound good.

The entire mix is as clean as any Country song should be.

@james1213: Thank you!
@Janet: Thanks for listening. :) I agree about my profile pic, it's time to bury the hatchet. LOL! :)
@olpal: Glad you liked it! I got a few more I'm working on, can't wait to get the one finished. I love it, I hope everyone else will.
@Bapu: Thanks! I'm a big Buck fan. I'm working on another one of his that would have been perfect to release last year about this time. Can ya guess what it is?

Hey, Bub,

Very nice job on this great sounding, traditional Country-Western cover!

Perfect vocals for the genre, and the music and mix are right on the money.  Really well done, Bub.

Have a good one, buddy!
Bob
