Three Minor Bug Reports

Nothing serious, but I can't report them on the main Cake site so here they are:

1. Click the 'Show/Hide Bus Pane' button. The Bus Pane is minimized as expected. Click the 'Show/Hide Bus Pane' button again and it's shown again. All fine, except that every time you do it, the bus pane grows in height by a couple of pixels. If you do it a lot, the bus pane will gradually get much bigger!

2. Minimize the multi-dock window, after making sure it only has the Console view within it. Now, with the multi-dock still minimized, click the 'X' button on the right of the Console tab to close it. Nothing happens, and yet you cannot open the Console view again by double clicking it. Now minimize Sonar and then show it again. The minimized multi-dock is black (ie. not drawn correctly). The only way to get the Console view back is to open it via the 'Views' menu. To see how this should work, do the same when the multi-dock isn't minimized.

Like I said, nothing serious but I thought I'd mention it as the problem reporting page is offline on the Cake website.

[Edit: And I'm having problems getting the comp meter to do anything at all in the Pro Channel on my laptop with older ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card. I've tried loading presets but that doesn't work.]

[Edit 2: Reported another bug below.]

Confirmed 1. and 2. Looks like the Bus pane grows one pixel with every cycle. And as I was playing around, I somehow got SONAR into a mode such that when it's maximized, the bottom of the main app window is behind the Taskbar, completely hiding the multidock tabs and controls. Had to restart X1 to restore it to normal behavior.

I'm waiting 'til the weekend to get my copy. So, I don't have it, nor the way to check, but I must know something. If you or anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

    Yep, confirmed here too...

And I'm seeing other issues with the maximize/minimize on a few screens/views.
    Very inconsistent.

Not sure if this is a bug or user error, but here's what I see:

    1) Move the MultiDock to a second monitor, maximize it and save this configuration as either your "Normal" template or a "Test" project.

    2) Close and re-open the Normal template or Test project.

You'll notice that the MultiDock opens fine in the second monitor but it is NOT maximized.  It opens minimized!

    Can anyone confirm this?

Jose, I can try that in a bit, but I'm also seeing other issues with MultDock - or should I say with UNdocking.

If I load up a normal.cwt and undock the console view, it changes EVERY other view in some way I didn't expect.   Totally strange.

    This is reproducible too.

    Oh wow!

I actually had my first X1 crash when opening a 96KHz project (from a 44.1KHz one).

But this is a problem with the newest RME drivers, not SONAR.  I was having similar issues in 8.5.3.

    Sorry about that Billy.

Ok, I just tried it (after the crash).  It opened max'd for me.

When I say max'd, I mean I had clicked in the upper right of the CV to make it full screen on the 2nd monitor, then saved the entire project as a .cwt.

After it crashed (ugh), I relaunched Sonar, reloaded the test file and it opened as I left it.

So I can't YET make it do what you see.

I CAN get it to where it's almost fully maximized, but not completely maximized as I could in SONAR 8.5.3.

In SONAR 8.5.3, I could just double-click the title bar of the floated Console View and that state would be saved exactly as I left it.  That's not happening for me with SONAR X1.  It could be OS related since I believe Windows 7 handles windows slightly different than XP and Vista.

    Billy,

Try dragging the tab instead of right clicking picking undock from menu.  You'll 1) find that much faster and 2) it floats the Console in one step.  The undock from the menu makes the view a child of the main frame which will do a restore on all other views so you can see the new child window.
