ah! you know what would be useful? because i see myself not pressing the ctrl key evertime i move a plugin.. would be reversing the ctrl so by default, nothing docks until you press the ctrl key. this would allow you to move everything freely and only dock when you want to. makes sense to me as the majority of the time (in a normal way of working) you are moving plugins more than you are docking them... or it's just me haha p..s is it intentional that the control bar's view does not transfer with the screenset

I don't like that the timeline is hard to see. It's that "where are the customizable colors?" thing again.

"would be reversing the ctrl so by default, nothing docks until you press the ctrl key. this would allow you to move everything freely and only dock when you want to." This was discussed about a month ago... when I was explaining how docking windows can be frustrating to the angry mob. It seems like the obvious way to do it. best regards, mike

The more monitors the better. I have three and definitely take full advantage of them. My main monitor is a 27" widescreen so I like to keep my main SONAR window and Track View in that That's the thing I am starting to dislike.. owning only a 24" widescreen with a 1900-resolution,.. and just not enough room for the console.. expanding the channel-strip will have like only 10 tracks visible.. I had a hard time figuring out how to add plugins to tracks,.. seems as if there are no longer fx-bins available, only on the left side where the trackinspector used to be. The problem is that I can only see 3-4 plugins at a time.. in previous versions I could expand the tracks to see all my plugins within the track.. beside seeing only "o UAD P" in the FX-bin, which is telling me close to nothing.

The effects bin is still visible in each track header on the track view. Try adjusting the filter (maybe set to 'All' instead of 'Custom') at the top left of the track view.

Seth Perlstein [Cakewalk ] The more monitors the better. I have three and definitely take full advantage of them. My main monitor is a 27" widescreen so I like to keep my main SONAR window and Track View in that. Then I have two 19" square monitors above it so I usually keep the Console floating in one of those and then I float the MultiDock in the third. In the MultiDock I have the Piano Rool, StepSequencer, and whatever other editing type views I might be working on in the project. Well, I can see that the new GUI is designed for more than one screen or at least you need a 27" monitor. All the buttons are just way too big to one 23" widescreen display...

I think I have learned more reading these posts than I did in the vids. heheh I have somthing I would like to hear yall's opinion on.. when you are adjusting the sampling rates, buffer sizes etc. to get the best quality/latency ratio, a test tone button like in ableton would be pretty handy... That way you can adjust it on the fly and have it set in a single bound without having to bump it a bit and click back and forth over and over till you get it right.. P.S. How can ya'll sleep at night offering X1 for this price after all those poor souls spent thousands on protools HD ? I'd tell the guy at Cakewalk HQ to wear his old shoes.... I sence a flaming bag of dog crap coming to front door near you.... heh

Hey it was mentioned in this thread by a cakewalk rep that the "auto-loop" feature of the media browser would be able to be turned off, but since the update I can't figure out how to do it.... any ideas?

Sounds like your monitor cables are swapped -- so just swap them again (ie, switch them).
