Dimension LE problem launching plug - Mac Pro 10.6.4 DP 7

I must've done something wrong.  I upgraded my Mac from PPC (Dual 2.7) Tiger (10.4.11). Now I have a Mac Pro Quad Core 2.8.  I've been slowly installing my software. I upgraded Dimension LE to the latest 1.5 something. I can launch Dimension as a stand alone but it won't launch inside DP.  DP does not recognize it.  I have other DAWS -  PT9 and Logic 8, as well as Live 7 I can test them on, but I'd rather not if there's a simple dumb thing someone can tell me I've done/not done.
All three plugins are installed in their AU/VST/RTAS folders. Should I not have some in there?  Are they conflicting with each other?  

This is a hold over from my 10.4.11 PPC days.  Something may have changed.  For instance I had to use a VST Wrapper then.  I don't think I do any longer. Hell VST Wrapper has been discontinued because it's no longer necessary.

Please someone throw me a bone if someone has some ideas I can try.  Or even point me to a manual. 

It seems vaguely I've had a similar problem as this before . . .
