New song and animated video: "The DJ Is a Psycho"
 Just wanted to share the video for my latest song, "The DJ Is a Psycho." The music was all recorded and mastered in my Brooklyn apartment using Sonar 7 Producer. Gear used included: Prophet 600, Oberheim Matrix 6r, Vermona DRM-1 MkIII, Yamaha TX-802, Moogerfooger Analog Delay, Electro-Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe, Boss PS-3, and Vermona Retroverb. I try to avoid using plugins, but I did use Voxengo's Tape Bus and the Waves L2 plugin for the final mixdown. Watch the video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBD1Sla_4Y4

This song was out of control...so was the video. All I can say is I watched the whole thing....I don't do that much.

cool idea dude. the video was excellent. music wasn't what i expected (i was thinking some crazed gabba thing...) being quite 80s and tuneful! mix is a bit hot at times, even putting youtube to 720p, but that could be a codec thing, i dunno. lotsa work in that there though!

I think you are overloading the mix somewhere between 400-550hz with the vocals/bass. Cuz at the chorus it really bothered my precious little ears.
The video was off the hook.

Great entertainment. The video is first class all the way. I love the song because it sounds fresh and vintage at the same time. I agree that the vocals are too hot in the middle of the song. It could be the EQ or it could be overcompressed, but I hear it too. Otherwise, this is excellent.

I have to agree the mix was too in your face type of thing going on as in too LOUD !  The video was ok if you like cartoon's , myself it was a IF thing . To be honest with you I would go back and remix your music , tone it down some or add a add a warning message to it like " put in your ear plugs for safety " !!!!!! Radio

Awesome...as previously mentioned I do not stay to the end of much on youtube....but this I did.

I didn't have an problems with the mix here. No overloading in the monitors or anything. It seemed to flow nicely. However, I was freaking out watching the video thinking I needed to know where my Grandkids are. LOL! Superb job and good luck in that festival. It's creative and I could have watched more. EP?

Oh, by all means the audio was loud. I thought the guys meant it was distorted. I just turned it down and it was balanced very well. OK, I lied, I DIDN'T TURN IT DOWN! :-)

Wow, this was an interesting change of pace for me. Very cool animation, and the tune wasn't half bad either  Yeah, that means I liked it. Congratz on your selection for the festival. I'm sure this will be well received.

Thanks, Phil! @whack, frames for the animation were created using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The frames were assembled into a movie using Sony Vegas. The background cityscapes at the start and end of the video were rendered with Autodesk 3ds Max. @Warren, there is, in fact, more! I have another animated video for the song "Talisman" that is sort of a sequel.
