Can we still truly customize the tool bars? Been looking for an hour
Hey guys, I'm trying really hard to not be frustrated about x1. I'm wondering if you guys know if you can still do this in x1: Create 100% customized tool bars. In 8.5.3 I have created elaborate groups of icons to do everything from "toggle auto cross fades" to "revert view". These are 100% crucial to my work flow. I do a ton of editing and I need to be able to quickly toggle both of these options. I'm going to look through and see if I can bind hot keys to them in the mean time, but I'd really like the icons back. Asside from being too large, the new tool bars work well, for what they do. I just can't seem to figure out if they're still customizable (beyond toggling the 12 or so different tool bars and moving their position.) Thanks, Josh

Sorry, not possible. But who knows what's in store for the next few updates. I know a lot of people have complained about it. For the moment, take a look at the key bindings. There are loads of new ones that do just about everything, and they are mapped sensibly now using 'key clusters'. If you're a (computer) keyboard wizard, you'll be fine!

Rad. Thanks for the confirmation! I'll look at the shortcuts. I haven't written x1 off yet. But it was definitely a shock when I tried to work on a project and was completely stumped on basic workflow things =) I appreciate it! Josh

I use key bindings quite a bit, but if I haven't used one in a while I tend to forget about it. That is why I wish Cakewalk would add more optional icons to the tool bar in a future patch. IMO, they removed too many things from both the task bar and the tool bar.

Speaking of this, is the menu editor still available? I liked being able to change the ordering of things, especially the right-click option menu in track view.

he ordering of things, espec hi, i'm catching this too late, but me too, I really miss the Menu Editor, I can't finf it on X , could you? I'm trying to set DOUBLE CLICK on audio clips to Clip Properties, but I can't, I found how to change DOUBLE CLICK behaviour on the options section on the track view, but just have Loop Construction View and Nothing. Initially, when double clicking I had ASSOCIATED AUDIO FILES, I changed it to nothing, and can't get back to the initial setting! and now it's set to Nothing, very annoying. If you found the answer to this please let me know. Best DD

Dede... No, you can't customize SONAR X1's main menus... only plug-in menus. Clip properties are now available via the Clip tab at the top of the Inspector. Scott -- Scott R.
