Unable to record Audio Tracks

Audio tracks will not record or recognize that there is even an instrument plugged in. All available inputs have been tried and nothing seems to work.
What could be the cause

Doesn't matter. You didn't tell what software you're using, what your system and hardware specs are etc. and what you have  tried so far, so no-one could have answered you anyway.

    Have you done the tutorials?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
