Roland Groovesynth misssing...

I've installed Sonar X1 Essential on a clean machine and the Roland Groovesynth doesn't appear to be present - it is listed in the "Essential Instruments" page:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/X1-Essential/Overview.aspx/Essential-Instruments

Is the assumption that this would be installed as part of an earlier installation of HS7 XL?

Cheers,
Gary.

Current configuration:
Core i3 Laptop / 8GB RAM; Sonar Platinum (replaced with REAPER); Roland Quad Capture interface; Alesis Micron; Roland XP30; Akai Mini MPK; Akai S2000

I re-installed Sonar X1 Essential, and the list of softsynths in the installer does not include the Groovesynth - the list of instruments for Sonar X1 Essential needs correcting/updating so it is accurate.

    Cheers,
    Gary.

I experienced this too!  It is very frustrating... but I think I've stumbled on the "reason" and a workaround.

    *Why
Uing the Plug-in Manager, I found that there are several DirectX Synths that come-up as FX, and not Synths, in SonarX1!
** Cyclone, DreamStation DXi2, GroovePlayer, PSYN II, Roland GrooveSynth, RXP

    *Workaround
The Templates, Acid Techno, and Electronic, actually have these synths assigned to their tracks...

...So, if you open one of those Templates and create a Track Template from one (or more) of the tracks that have those wonkily-compiled DX Synths assigned...

...You will then be able to import that Track Template into your own project, and the Synth should be properly assigned there too!  (I've tried this in a project of mine and it worked like a dream. :)

    Namaste!

I just stumbled upon this myself while trying to work on an old track. I've also tried inserting another instance of Groovesynth but received the message: "Failed to insert soft synth. The synth may not be properly installed." I got the same message for PSYNII as well. I've had no prior issues with X1 on my new PC. Is Gary right to suggest that the inclusion of Groovesynth and PSYNII (there's possibly more) in the list of available soft synths to insert is based on the assumption that these would already be pre-installed from prior versions of Sonar? Still, why make it an option if these synths are no longer included in X1? Is this a known issue, and does anyone know of a workaround? Thanks.

My apologies. It seems to work okay on my 32-bit version of Sonar. Should Groovesynth be working on the 64-bit version? Or is it just the organisation of my files? Thanks again.
