Also, is there a way to mute the monitors while recording instead of having that sound come back thru the microphone.

Plug your monitors into outputs 3-4 on the VS100.

Enable both the 1-2 and 3-4 output pairs on your computer (sonar).

Have both outputs enabled in your project.

Create a bus that everything gets routed to that goes to outputs 1-2 (this will be for your headphones).

Create a send on that bus that goes to outputs 3-4 (the monitors).

Now you can use sonar to adjust the volume of the monitors independent of the headphones and you can mute the monitors without muting the headphones too.

You've probably sussed this now, but if not, you need to change the audio settings to the new soundcard/drivers, and change the master output to the new drivers.
I have a lot of problems with this error because I use a laptop and switch between recording with an external interface and editing with just the laptop's soundcard.
