Finally figured out snap to grid

first i went to preferences and turned off magnetic strength. then i put my snap settings to  "snap to" not "snap by" .important if your snap is on 32 notes dont drag your clip to fast or it will seem like its not snapping (zoom in like twice and you can see that it does snap to the 32 notes). and if you edit on the piano roll tthese notes  will also snap to the 32 notes. i know kinda sloppy explaination but thats how i got it to work. hopefully it helps yawl

Something that just saved me a LOT of frustration was to read the manual and learn what all this new stuff DOES.

For the 'old' snapping, turn Snap ON.. Turn Magnetic OFF...

Say you want to Snap to every 1\4.  Right click on the top right button on the Snap Console... Select 1\4.   Now, this is the important part... DE-SELECT everything else.

For a while, I had it snapping to 1\4, nearest MIDI, Transient, Clips, and frames... No wonder it looked like it wasn't working.

If you want a targeted snap - make sure it's the only one selected (everything else should be greyed out).
