I'm Almost Ashamed To Ask This Newbie Question, But I'm Drawing A Blank

Hello All,

How does one change the sound output back to the computer speakers versus routing everything through the VS-100?

For some strange reason, I am drawing a blank like you would not believe:(

I can get everything to play through the headphones connected to the VS-100, but not through the computer's speakers.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Gingko Biloba is not helping me at all with this one:)

Peace,

    Hi Seed:

Hopefully you've figured this out by now, but just in case:  When you start Sonar and use the VS 100, you should have your Sonar audio passing through the VS 100, but the PC's sounds (error beeps, for example) should still be going through the PC's sound card.  Hopefully you're using the VS 100's ASIO drivers, which have nothing to do with the PC's sounds.

If all else fails, you can power off the PC and reboot, but you should go back to the PC's sound card automatically at the end of your Sonar session, just by turning off the VS 100.

Thanks and within a very unique way of experimenting with FruityLoops, everything started working again within Sonar.

Seeing the missing VS-100 alert made it more disturbing than anything else.

    Thanks again for your help!

right click on the speaker icon at the lower right corner of the screen and then choose the desired playback device (sound card).

    Hey M@B:

That's a new Win7 trick--and a cool one!  It's much more awkward on XP, where I still (unfortunately) spend a lot of time.  You need to go through menu tabs to accomplish the same thing, even if starting with a right click.  Thanks for pointing it out!

I did not know that... you just saved me some future trouble for sure.
