Q is for question mark. I was hoping this would be fixed in the patch update but according to some posts I've seen it has not. It's a bummer, we'll probably have to wait til next year some time before we see it. (being the holidays and all)

hmm... works for me... I think... Ill check this again when I get to the studio later. Could swear that I highlighted notes in the prv and used q already. I had Q set for quantize and M for mute in 8.5 already. Nice to see the bakers caught on to my superior logic(no pun intended of course, since sonar is superior to logic! lol j/k)

Wasn't 'Q' for muting clips in previous versions? ('K' is now the clip mute shortcut). I hit Q the other night thinking I'd mute a clip and nothing happened. Though I would have been really surprised if stuff was quantized when I was expecting a clip to be muted.

yes it was, but I customized sonar so q is quantize, m is mute, o (since it is next to p for pan) is volume envelop and p is pan envelope, etc. They are getting hip to letters matching commands-

Like I said, Q is for question mark LOL! btw, the problem being described isn't 100% of the time, but it's most of the time. Maybe it was also an issue with 8.5., maybe I'll have a look later......

Pressing "Q" works for me all the time so far. I have to have a clip selected, of course.

Not the prv in the track view. Ok, to reproduce, double click on a midi clip to get it into the PRV and then hit Q. Regardless, the only way to get quantize to work is top menu/process/quantize afaik. In ideal situations, "Q" should work in the PRV (again not track view) as that is a pretty important

Yes, I would expect the same letter command to work in the PRV for consistency sake.

I'm a brand new user of X1 and starting off with Essentials so I've been browing all over the forum to find info on how to use and do what I want to do. I can see already that an upgrade to Producer will be in order as soon as I can afford it.... Anyway, I saw earlier on this forum, think I was looking at audiosnap info (which apparently isn't part of Essentials) but someone said there to use Alt+p=q, I tried it and it does open up the quantize dialog.....
