You're not the only one, Mr. LSB!
Long time no talk... how's life been?
Just updated my machine and the Terratec EWS88D was the only thing that was kept from the old one. It was a big jump: old machine was an Athlon64 x2 on XP and running SONAR 5PE. The new machine is an i7 920 on Win7 x64, and I'm on SONAR X1 x64.
I was surprised that I'd be able to get the Terratec working at all on Win7 64-bit. I still cannot get the ASIO control panel to respond... it's grayed out at the 1024 sample buffer setting. Were you able to get the ASIO panel to work somehow? I'm on the Terrasoniq driver v5.54c.
I'm currently running WDM at 44.1/24 bit, 5msec. I was able to get down to 3 msec but it started getting "clicky". (Maybe I should check the DPC latency on this machine to see if that may be the limiting factor, but it may just be a card/driver limitation.)
WDM playback is way-solid at all bit levels (as set in Preferences>Audio): soft synths at 5 msec and pre-recorded clean audio is perfect. But WDM recording is sometimes flaky. After a restart everything is fine for a while, but then it sterts to get "fluttery" (this is on the printed audio clips). No idea yet as to the cause... it just "happens", and unfortunately with no warning. I have the Terratec set as the clock source (internal). Any ideas on how to get the recording side more solid?
Just for grins I ran the WASAPI mode, and it actually looked like it was working, but didn't tweak it very much. Did you experiment with that yet?
