How to install Dimension Pro 64 bit?

I have installed Dimension Pro 1.5 32-bit.
I want to install 64-bit version, too.

Problem:  DimensionProSetup.exe says "The installer has detected that a previous version of Dimension Pro is currently installed. Please download the 1.5 update from www.cakewalk.com"

I downloaded Dimension_1.5.exe. It lets me choose between 32-bit and 64-bit Versions. I get thru to Select Components page (install D-Pro). When I press Next I get message "Please note version 1.2 or greater must be installed prior to installing this update."

Then Setup program lets me select a folder of VST plug-ins. But I don't have any 64-bit versions yet!

I tried to install Dimension Pro 1.2 from Sonar 8 disks but it installs only 32-bit version.
I also tried to change serial number of Dimension to a new one I received when I purchased X1.
I also tried to remove registry entries:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Dimension Pro]
"ProductKey"="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\dp]
"Contents Folder"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Cakewalk\\Dimension Pro"
"Multisamples Folder"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Cakewalk\\Dimension Pro"
"Serial Number"="CWDM-1.10-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
"RegUrl"="http://www.cakewalk.com/register/default.asp?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Any help, how to install 64-bit Dimension Pro 1.5?

    I just wet through the same thing. . . I ended up uninstalling Dim pro then installing the fresh 1.5 version that came with X1 download. This worked for me.

    Hope this helps

    Guitman,

    Are you able to load Dim Pro in X1 or 8.5 after the installation procedure you describe? I get the "synth failed to load properly" error message in both X1 and 8.5 after the additional content installation procedure you used.  I was able to use Dim Pro in both X1 and 8.5 including 64 bit after failed installations of additional content (I had upgraded to DP 1.5 months ago in 8.5 but would get caught in the "must run the 1.5 updater" loop on trying to install additional content).

    Loaded ok in X1 not sure  8.5 yet, and unfortunately when I open DP 1.5 it gives me an invalid reg # when I try to complete the reg.,  but in cakewalk "my Account" reg and serial show up?  Still haven't got it totally figured out yet.

    Just a quick note.  I ran into exactly this problem.  When I followed guitman's lead and uninstalled my old version of Dimension Pro, I found that I was running Version 1.0.  The new install is proceeding nicely now that the old version is gone -- I'm installing the 64-bit version, straight out of the X1 download file.  So I think that's the way to go.

    That is how I got the additional content to load.  However, Dim Pro fails to load in X1 and 8.5.3 afterward, despite scanning the folders in which Dim Pro appears.  Dim Pro fails to appear in Plug In Manager as a VST instrument despite the scan.  I would have been better off stopping after the Dim Pro Expansion Pack loaded, as I could still use it in both X1 and 8.5.3.  Please let us know your results.

    It may help to re-install Dim Pro 1.2 from your Sonar 8 disc.

    I tried all of the solutions suggested, last being uninstall of 1.2 along with registry edits.  The additional content finally loaded but both X1 and 8.5.3 returned synth failed to load errors.  When bitflipper posted today that he was reloading 1.2 from Sonar 8 disc I figured it was worth a try.  So far both Dim Pro 1.2 and 1.5 are loading.
