Viewing drums

So how do I get to that cool view where the drums are graphically shown?

since you found it.... I won't tell you.

But I will tell you, in case you haven't already figured this out.... the track inspector has the ability to load a cool track icon of  the instrument .... much sweeter than just using a name. Easier to see what's in the track at a glance too.

Okay I give up. How do I access the track inspector?

I have looked in help, and elsewhere and get only oblique references to it.

You can change the track icon in the track view. Just right click of the icon on the track that you want to change. Then select load track icon. A window will open with choices for new icons. Just double click the one you want and it will be your new icon on that track.Make sure that your windows view options is set to thumbnails so you will see them.

The track inspector is on the left side of the track view. I think ...nahhhh I better not try to guess.... F1 always opens the help... then search the topic. it is easy to find. type "track inspector " or just "inspector" and it shows you how to work with it.

    my guess "control/i "  together....

The icons are nice and I discovered that there are more icon pictures provided with MC4, for some reason they took a number of files away from the install package on MC5.  If you have MC4 you can reuse the old icon files and if you want to you can use pictures of your very own instruments if you just save them as a bitmap and figure out where in the tangled directory structure that MC5 puts the track icon files.   I discovered launching the nice drum interface by double clicking the track icon totally by accident.  Its real nice ONCE you discover it.

To find the bitmap location... right click the picture.... the address show up under properties IIRC.

Yeah you can load your own bitmap pics..... if they're small enough.

Did you buy the BOXED version of MC5 or the download?....please say you bought the BOXED version......
