Whole COnsole only shows if I expand Sonar Cakewalk till onto second monitor

I have a 1920 x 1600 primary monitor, but unless I drag out the right side of the Cakewalk X1 window until it's part way onto my second monitor, certain icons don't show up  (like those for inserting markers, an Event Inspector panel, and another panel with 30FPS Non Drop at top and a few icons below).

Is this a bug or expected functionality?

Any way to fix?

There are little handles on each panel, and you can simply drag them to the left, thus re-ordering them so the ones you want show up in normal size screen.  Is that the best approach?

Thanks

    the same here...

You can "override" this bug using SCREENSHOTS.

simply - on the top control panel of Sonar click on the 2 (or 3, 4, 5, 6) Screenshot, then openConsole view, then using mouse - drag it to fill two screens. And then click one more time at the Screenshot you've choosen at beginning.

to switch between screenshots you can use 1-6 keys on your keyboard.

Full me... I know what you mean.....

Got 2 monitors 1650x150 (or something like this). And to see whole control bar I have to manually enlarge main windw to two monitors.

btw. What exactly monitor do you have? I want to buy two monitors like yours :)

There is no bug here. The Control Bar has more modules in it then will display on a single screen. To show modules that are out of view remove or change their placing on the bar. Its not unlike the old tool bars in Sonar if one displayed all buttons in all the tool bars there leaves little room on the screen for tracks.

You need to be selective as to what your Control Bar displays.

That is correct, it's not a bug, it's just bad design.

In version 8.5 I could see all the stuff I wanted. I got to make my own choices rather than have someone tell me how it should be.

Because one can move a module to where one needs it to be you can still control what is showing. However, when CW lets us customize it with a user module it wont be as flexible as the old tool bars were.

Have you tried dragging one of the modules to another place yet?

Maybe there are some exhaustive instructions for doing so?

The intuitive work flow way of simply attempting to drag one over as if it was a tool bar module did not do anything that I anticipated.

Furthermore the hidden modules that are simply "off the screen" are impossible to grab and pull anywhere... because they are floating off the screen where you can't see them, grab them or do anything.

You just get the warm satisfaction of knowing they are there.

    1600x1200 display.

There is a handle on the left side of each module that is used to move it. Clearly if one can't see a module its not going to be easily moved.

I tried the handle thing... as I say nothing seemed to want to move.

When Cakewalk gets Audio Snap working I'll try again.

    Thanks.

It's not even a hidden handle - it's pretty clear on my display (and this is my laptop display, not even my large desktop monitor) - a series of horizontal lines going down the entire length of the right hand side of the module that when you click and drag, it moves the module to a new position on the control Bar.  Works every time for me.

Yes, being selective is the key.  I have two monitors but I don't need to see the entire population of the toolbar.  My choice - you may want to see all.   But if you want to be selective you Right-Click in any blank space (non button area) in the toolbar.  Up will pop a screen indicating the toolbars that are off-screen, and it will allow you to select the ones you want to display.  Katherine

    There's a reason to use screenshots/screensets.

Unfortunatelly - this reason is a bug.

After some moves with tracks, hiding unnecessarry channels in CV, you can't "expand" or select desired track in Track View. You have to change screenshot to coninue your work. Moreover - after some moves you can't move tracks up/down, or/and one track is expanding while scrolling,..

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. Even though the title says Console it really is talking about the Control Bar.

Also you don't need to use screensets to select a track in the track view.
