Sonar X1a crashing - C++ Runtime error

I'm not a frequent poster in these forums so forgive me if this is a duplicate thread, or if there is a better place to post this.

My problem is that Sonar keeps crashing. This happens pretty frequently and it is really interfering with my creative flow. Basically, as I start tweaking/editing and then go back to listen to my edits, it will crash. It doesn't happen every time, but frequently enough to give me fits.

I upgraded from 8.3 to X1. (Patched to X1a)
8.3 ran great for me. The crash is reporting issues with the C++ Runtime Library. The path given is to my SonarPDR.exe

I am running Win XP Home (32-bit) SP 3
I have an M-Audio Fast Track Pro with the latest drivers.
Intel E8400 CPU
3 GB Ram

If any other info is useful, please let me know. If anyone has any suggestions or has also seen this issue on their PC, I would love to hear it. Many thanks!

Hi - this has been discussed quite a bit.

I would recommend that you go to the Microsoft site and get both the C++ runtime distributables for both 2005 SP1 and the 2010 version (NOT the beta).

Install them (they will install over themselves, so don't worry) and see if that solves the problem.

Good luck.

@dude24man

I use the Sonitus delay quite a bit. And it seems that memory usage on sonarpdr.exe is pretty high when I go to task manager to terminate the process. So a memory leak certainly seems plausible. Is this a known issue, or speculation on your part?

I used Sonitus delay in 8.3 a lot as well, without these issues...

Thanks for the info!

@StarTekh

Yes, I have both installed on the same system (just to wanted to make sure X1 was stable before I removed 8.3 - it's 8.3 not 8.5.3). Which dll do I have to replace?

Motherboard is an Asus P5KC
Video Card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 260

So I tried the 2005 c++ redistributable... No dice. Same issue keeps happening.

I will try the 2010 tonight.
