Importing Track Templates WITH Folders - I'm Stumped

I posted a while back about importing Folders along with Track Templates in this thread.

http://forum.cakewalk.com...amp;high=track+folders

and was referred to a post by Brandon here

http://forum.cakewalk.com...81&mpage=1#2152615

stating that "Track Templates are currently ignoring folders. It's being fixed and will be available in update. It bothers me too."

But apparently some people are having no problem with them.

http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2181909

Is there a special technique for saving folders within a track template? I've tried a dozen different ways and I always get i.e. my 10 Drum tracks but no drum folder when I import track templates. I really want to learn this my as drum templates are large and I'm having to create a new folder each import.

Thanks

    Thanks again pathos,

Maybe this will help someone else

For a track template highlight the folder PLUS ALL tracks in it.

Then go to File/ Export/ Track Template.

To insert into project use Menu/ Insert/ Track Template

I was trying to 'save' from the right click context menu in the tracks. Didn't know there was a File>Export Track Template command.

Thanks so much. I hope that helps someone else. Now it's off to re-save all my track templates.

    Happy New year

In the past there was a checkbox that if you missed it, it would cause this sort of confusion. Is it possible that this is the case here?

For starters, is it clear that the same template will load as you expect in v8.5 but not in X1?

I wonder if you have to make a fresh template and find that checkbox again?

    just throwing out ideas.

    best regards,
    mike

No import filter dbx and check box in X1. Got it to work once but no more luck. Confused.

It doesn't work and hasn't been fixed yet. I don't know if/how other people might be getting it to work.

    Thanks Scott,

I've been following a couple of threads on this issue and the mystery is why it works for some and not for others.

Works great for me in 8.53, not in X1a.

    .ini setting somewhere?

Yeah, I think it may have to do with the migration of settings from 8.5 when installing X1, but I don't know where that setting may be stored. Sorry. Probably somewhere in the Windows Registry.
