X1 - missing audio outputs - solved (for now)

Just downloaded X1. Installed okay and played a sample project. Loaded up a soft synth and played okay. Latency seemed a little high so I changed it, then I lost all audio and if I change from asio to wdm for example, I just keep getting missing audio device message.
Have a focusrite saffire and it shows up, but somehow X1 is missing something, or I am.
Appreciate any help.
