Try setting it to audio metronome, instead of midi note (right click on one of the metronome buttons).

okay, i will try that tomorrow. any clue which button i need to right click on?

also what happened to the tap tempo feature? i love that they made it way easier to do time signature/tempo changes, but not at the sacrifice of tap tempo.

@metronome: right click on any of the metronome icons and it takes you to that page. Alternatively, "P" will get you into the preferences and you could look there.

@tap tempo. VERY annoyed about this but now you have to go to Project/instert tempo change. I'd love to be wrong about this as it was right there in 8.5
