Pod Farm with non line 6 interface

I currently run a Line 6 UX1 interface and I enjoy the Pod farm software. If I used another Brand of interface that is not a Line 6 product, Would Pod farm still work? Is it proprietary to Line 6 interfaces? Thanks

    AFAIK, the Line 6 interface that you're using serves as a dongle for Pod Farm.

    Dongle?  you lost me there, But I did take the time to figure out AFAIK,

    A dongle is basically a specific piece of hardware needed to make a specific piece of software to work.

    I think gustabo is correct.  I am pretty certain that the ux1 must be connected in order to use pod farm.

    you don't have to use it as your soundcard, tho, I don't think.  but I'm not an expert on line 6 products.

    Damb dongle's, Oh well, I like pod farm too much to lose it, I just wish the UX1 had midi ports, I use a M-Audio usb uno but that is just another link in the chain that needs massaging. Thanks for your help!

    All of Line6 stuff requires some kind of dongle (either guitar interface or iLok)
    but you don't have to use it as your audio interface, it just has to be connected. At least that's the way it works with my Line 6 TonePort DI.
