Sonar 7 + Win 7 (64 bit) audio issues
Hi all, I just upgraded my computer to Windows 7 64bit, from XP 32-bit. Installation was great, and all programs are working fine. Except Sonar 7. I am having two big problems:
1. I reinstalled Sonar 7 Studio as 64-bit from the CD. Now some effects are missing? When I load an older 32 bit project, it reports missing effects, such as the Cakewalk Guitar compressor which I'd been using in that project. But, I didn't install any additional effects when I was using the 32 bit version. What gives? Are there missing effects in the 64 bit version???
2. A much larger issue here. I can't seem to get the audio to work. I'm using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard, with the latest 64 bit drivers from M-Audio installed. In Sonar 7, I've tried both WDM and ASIO driver modes (latest ASIO4All driver). When I playback and record audio, or apply a Sonitus effect - even a simple reverb - the audio sounds all choppy and jagged, unusable. Almost sounds like the sample rates are mismatched. But they are not; Sonar is set to 44.1k, and the Audiophile sees 44.1k.
Can anyone help me with this stuff? I had Sonar 7 working great on the same computer on XP 32-bit, and now it seems the audio recording is totally broken. I'm very frustrated. (And I realize this may be an M-Audio issue, not a Sonar issue. Though, all other audio functions with my computer are working fine - iTunes, Skype, etc).
Thanks in advance.
