Sonar 8.5 producer says Echo audio fire 4 drivers not compatible I am new help!

Hello

I just purchased Sonar and I am really excited about getting to use it. There is one problem, I have installed a Echo Audiofire 4 interface and Sonar said that the drivers to it are not compatible, my research let me to believe that this was a good fit. I have Vista 64 bit home premium, I installed the 64 version of Sonar, I have disabled the Vista audio drivers and that has not helped either. I am really frustrated because ever since I have had this computer  (HP Pavillion) I have had nothing but headaches.  I used to own a pre sonus firebox and firewire interface did not work with the firewire that came with this computer. I am really frustrated. All I want to do is be able to create music. I do not want to buy three more audio interfaces and go through this same thing.

1. Is there anyone who knows how i can fix this?
2. Is there a audio device that I can purchase for under $500 that will work for sure with this and not have latency issues?

I am willing to give usb a shot, I just have very little free time and I have spent the whole new years eve and news years day trying to get this to work.
I would go to guitar center and ask for help but those guys never know anything.

I am a noob at recording and ANY good advice will be used and appreciated!

I appreciate your help, this is my first  post

    Hi,

have you installed 64 bit drivers? If not (or if they are not available), you need to run the 32 bit version of Sonar (I've seen references on these forums to users who have both versions installed at the same time)

    Sonar Platinum 64 bit, Windows 10 64 bit, i5 4670K Haswell Processor,  4.2GHz, 8Gb RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, AMD Radeon R7 260X, 120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, 1000GB 7200RPM Hard Disk

There shouldn't really be any trouble with the Echo, they're very mature products with solid, stable drivers.

You need to go through all the configs for the soundcard in both the echo control panel and the audio settings in Sonar before you consider blowing more money on another audio card.

I'm afraid I don't know about 64bit systems so there may be a problem in that, but I don't expect so.

I suspect a samplerate / bit depth mismatch, does it say 'Sonar is incompatible with this driver' or 'this bitdepth is incompatible with that set by the driver'?

Echo has (had?) Vista/W7 64 bit drivers, but a quick google got 404 errors for Echo Audio. Don't know what's up with that, but a more thorough search should get you what you need. (Heard rumors that Apple is buying Echo...)

Don't know if you are still having problems, but you should use the ECHO ASIO drivers. Enable them under Audio in the Edit/Preferences menu. See here, too:
