Space Bar does not ctrl Global Play when Step Seq is Open

Space Bar does not ctrl Global Play when Step Seq is Open

in 8.5 I could be using the Step Sequencer view, and Space Bar would control the global play/stop of the track.

in X1, the space bar does NOT control global play when Step Seq View is open. In fact, the Space Bar does Nothing in Step Seq View.

My keybindings look alright I think.

Any suggestions?

    I think this goes back to 8.5. If the Step Sequencer is not float-enabled, and the focus is on the SS window, you lose contorl of transport functions. In X1, it works when the SS is floated or docked, but not when it is in the so-called "MDI" mode, where it is neither.

    OK thanks brundle, but how do I float-enable Step Seq?

    Click the icon at the top left corner of the SS window, and choose Enable Floating from the drop down.
