Strange Latency Question

I've used Guitar Tracks in various forms for over 10 years. I now have GTP4 and actually got my Lexicon Omega to work with it. I'm working on a Dell Laptop that was giving me dropout problems until I shut off basically everything running in the background and now it seems to functioning except one thing...
 
Strangely, when I record a new track, the visual waveform is lined up during recording, but after I finish my recording, the new track always has a small delay. I cut and realign, but it's annoying and wondering if this is a problem others have had or if there is a suggestion.
