Unpleasant Surprises - w/ workaround

Evidently other things don't remember its settings in X1 ... as I discovered that every time I closed the settings window for True Pianos, which I had set on the "bright" piano, it defaulted back to the "default" setting.

The workaround is simply don't close the window. If you leave it open, it remembers.

... just a heads up for folks.

Best,

Kev-

I can't reproduce this. Do you maybe have the Default patch set in the header of the MIDI/Instrument track driving TP so that it resets when you start playback, rather than just from closing the window?

I'll check that, B, but I don't believe so. I'll report back later as I'm not currently in the studio.

This is not a new problem, Dave.  It's been around for awhile, and CW does know about it, though I'm not sure it's their problem.

SOME plugins (not sure about TP) simply do not recall the actual "name" of a "preset" (ie, the USER preset dropdown in the plugin GUI) -- but Sonar DOES recall the actual settings properly.

It's annoying and occasionally confusing, but not serious, because the settings are managed properly regardless of the dropdown field status.

Other than what you point out (ie, where maybe a setting is recalling some default patch), this issue does exist for some plugins indeed.
