Dead Flowers-Rolling Stones cover

Just purchased a new Line 6 Pod HD500 and decided to break it in on this cover....wanted to try a few amp models and different guitars...novice slide player as you will be able to tell...as well as a very shaky singer....curios how it sounds to the fine ears here:

The frog picture made me chuckle.  :-)

I love the energy you always have in your productions.  The guitar playing is incredible, as always.

PUNK IT !! LOL this worked !!! The only thing I would change is bring the kick drum a bit out front cause the song looses its punch with it burried.... This brought a smile to my face...It reminds me of a dear friend of mine who got so sick of hearing FREEBIRD being yelled out from the audience all the time... It went from flipping them off and yelling NO CHARGE to punking the song... I though for sure it was going to get us killed being in Ga. turns out even the hardcore Skynyrd fans loved it explicit lyrics and all... I don't get to hear this type of interpretation of an old tune that often...It brought a smile... Good job axman !!!

Thanks for the great comments! I tried a new mix taking some of the feedback in mind about the drums(Thanks stratrat1!) and rearranged the guitars a little so the slide guitar is now doing all the fills /chorus parts, and did a non-slide  guitar track for the solo...here is my newest mix:

Cool man, glad ya dig it! I still am not totally happy with the rthym guitar tracks and the way they fit with the slide....slide totaly buries them...but if I kick em up a bit..it turns way muddy....a bit more tweeking is called for I think...then on to some original stuff!

Sounds good here. Maybe a little mid-rangey?

    Great cover!

Yea I agree with everyone elses sentiments, really good job, not normally my kind of music but I really like this.  As guitarpima said it's the mix is a little midy, try scooping out at 400hz and boosting the high-mids ever so slightly, that should fix the mix/master.

    Good job.

    Peace Ben
