Where did my hot key go?

Hi gang, new member to the forum....Very much a long time Cakewalk user.  I have only read a few posts, so my question may have been answered already, but in 8.5 and every other version of Sonar/Cakewalk that I can remember, F9 was used to mark the beginning boundary of a clip and F10 marked the ending boundary of a clip, and once these boundaries were marked, I could delete segments of a clip.  These hotkeys have been changed to something else now.

I know I can use one of the tools at the top of teh display to manage this, but is there not a hotkey that will let me do this?  So far I have managed to find all my other features that I have grown to rely upon (interpolation is now "find/change" and "bounce to track is no longer under the EDIT tab but under one of the new tabs).

All in all, I love X1 and once I loaded it to my new i7 950 with 8 G of RAM, I have had no issues whatsoever with the product and I am humming right along.  I just miss my hotkeys!   ;)

Check the Keybonding dialogue to see how it's done now. Many of the "classic" Sonar keybindings have been changed in X1. There has also been mention of being able to switch to "legacy" keybindings which should restore your F9 assignment.

on a related note, where in the key binding do i find "bounce to clip" now? It used to be genreal-edit-bounce or something, but now i cant find it anywhere :)

Set the Bind Context to Track View and look for Clips | Bounce to Clip(s).

Cakewalk removed the default bindings of F9/F10 to From/Thru = Now, and did not replace them with anything to my knowledge (?). You can just manually restore those bindings.

Here's my thread about about this, and also the changes to Ctrl-F9/F10 and F7/F8:

Lavoll, I had to search everywhere for the bounce function. It is no longer under edit, but under the new track view (I think track view - I am not sitting in front of Sonar now), but it is there,  I use it frequently.

Those are Ctrl+F6 and Ctrl+Shift+F6 now.

Hmmm... I checked  keybindings, and it does show those are the default bindings, but they don't work here, and are not documented in the Reference Guide. I thought it was interesting that Ctrl+F6 appears in the Reference Guide as an example of how to interpret a + between keynames, and nowhere else.

Are these working for you? It's no big deal, 'cause I think I'm going to stick with the old convention, anyway. Just curious.

Yeah, they work here. Someone was looking for those keys last week, so I dug around and found them. They're obviously not as easy as F9/F10 when using one hand, but I'm giving them a shot for now.

They don't work for me, either.  I am going to try and edit the control binding.
