pop is not really my favorite but It's huge with millions so that doesn't matter.... Cool song, Mix sounds good.  The fx on the synth in the intro seems to be kinda "pumping" a little much.  Not sure if that is intentional or overcompressed.  other than that it sounds pretty tight & I like the chorus hook.

Hey Chuck - thanks for listening. Yeah it's intentionally VERY compressed. Wanted it to sound a bit wierd i guess.

    Cheers!

Well, I like pop music a lot, and I like this song.  I think the production works quite well for this style of music.  Keep up the good work.

Really quality sounding mix.  Like ChuckC, I'm not a fan of pop, but you've definitely nailed the sound.  My only critique is the synth stuff during the intro.  It feels too forceful to me, and sounds like it's battling the vocals.  I can hear the same synth part through other parts of the song, but it feels like it sits back in the mix better than the intro.

    Hello Daylaa,

This production sounds great.  Vocals are right on, all instruments are clear and well arranged.  Bass can come up IMO, but that's easy.
    Very nice.

Thanks for the honest feedback and for listening - i agree, the very beginning is rather odd sounding, and perhaps sits better later on. Its actually some heavy sidechain compression.  I'm glad u like the rest of the mix. Means alot! It means my 1year of learning has begun to pay off!

This is really well done and its probably one of the better examples of this Genre that I've heard in a long time.

The vocals are really strong...I thought the overall production work was creative and interesting.

Only small crit if I had my way, would be to add a fuller bottom end..maybe with a driving sub-bass in there.

Thanks for sharing and its a really good creative song.

When it started I found myself thinking ...mmm don't think I'm gonna like this one as much, but by then end you won me over. Not my favourite style if I'm honest, but it is done very, very well. Listening on my laptop, so hard to tell properly, but the synths at the beginning seemed to be burying the vox a little.

That's nice..like a cross between The Artic Monkeys and New Order. I like your vocal delivery, really quirky and full of confidence.

very extreme electronica pop...very sell-able in that genre... Daylaa you have nailed that genre my friend !! I dig your or whos ever voice in this...I can see this being played in big dance clubs with the dance floor packed !!....If I were a scout looking for this genre..I would sign this !! Good job...It might be a bit loud... compression will make you loose clarity if your not careful... Not my type of music but this is pleasant !!!

Hi.  Really nice tune.  I hate to be one of those who tries to tell someone else how to make their tracks work since I don't think anyone has all the answers, but if I could just comment that I think the 'track' needs to be a little more upfront.  I wanted to hear the drums pump me along with the synths.

But, I like it.  Good songwriting for the genre (which I also like).

BTW, are you into Kaskade?  If so - I could hear this track done with their approach to mixing.

Well thank you very much to all who have listened and commented. Much appreciated.
It means lots that you listen even though my music isn't your kind of thing.
Apologies it's taken me a while to hit you back - been (very) sick.

    ba_midi:
I gave Kaskade a listen after you mentioned him - i really liked it (and recognised it). Yeah i have alot of respect for his mixes - very modern and experimental. Cheers for recommending! I will look into adding some more low end thump - a few others have also raised that point.

    Rockinrobby:
Does my avatar still appear as me infront of a large black bear?? It shouldn't - i have had a different one for months now. How strange!

    Stratrat1:
Wow - mega compliment thank you. Very encouraging words. And than you for the headsup on over-compressing. I have taken that onboard.

    Truckermusic:
LMAO! errr - thanks for posting. I think? ha ha!

    Guitarhacker:
I'm glad i won you over - thank you for posting. I will go take a long hard look at my tiny low end. (on any other forum i wouldn't get away with saying that)!

    Slow Marching Band:
Hey - 2 great compliments there! Thankyou. I am glad you like my vocals too - i would never ever describe myself as a vocalist or a singer, but luckily i can sing in some kind of tune and that's enough for me.

    Paulo:
Very glad you liked it after a while - I agree with you - the very start is kindov a strange experience and perhaps buries the vocal a bit. I will take a look at it when i feel well again. Thanks for listening and posting.

    Thalweg:
Thanks for the great encouraging words. I'm quite glad that the criticism is 'not enough low end' - i think i'd rather be 'under doing' it than over doing it. I will go tweaky.

    Best wishes to all,

Very nice. The treatment of the video fits the groove and the whole concept comes together very well. You could probably bring up the low end a touch, for a little more punch, but it sits very well as it is.

Thanks Robert. The video is literally a bunch of silent vids i took on my year in Canada shoved together. They kinda have a warm sentimental feeling for me and tell a bit of a story.
When i feel up to it - i will take a look at the low end.

excellent dave! i was trying to think who your voice reminded me of, then james mentioned the Arctic Monkeys...as your previous post, great creative use of retro synths. mix sounds good, but it'd be nice to hear the music at slightly higher quality - maybe checkout Soundcloud and post your tunes there too. anyhow, cool!
