How do I use my Yamaha PSR-=225 to control the synths?

I have a PSR 225 hooked up by Midi cables and would like to use to controll the software instruments Dimension LE and Rapture and the like. The keyboard chimes when I load a new synth to a track but when I press the keys it only produces the notes from it's one speakers / sound bank.
