Where's the AUTO-CROSSFADE ON/OFF short cut?
Hi, just upgraded from Sonar 6 to X1; big leap! I'm finding my way through it , but after 20 years using cakewalk I'm lost for the first time with the short cut changes (F9-F10,as go-to are gone etc) but what i can't find is how to re-bind myself the old X short cut, AUTO-CROSSFADE ON/OFF. Any suggestion? Thanks a lot dd

One thing that hasn't changed in Sonar is that you can find the answer to most questions just by serching the help menu. If you search on crossfade, you'll find your answer.

dear daveny5, I went throught the Help and Sonar X1 threads before posting, and believe me, I couldn't find the answer to my question there, could you? one other thing that hasn't changed is that sometimes people answer a post without actually reading it... Go on search for autocrossfade in the help menu, you'll find [Track view] Options > Auto crossfade but I had found that already, what I can't find is the SHORT CUT for that (previosly a simple, glorious X). I use that X all the time, believe me. love dd

You can add your own key binding for that (not pre-defined): Preferences->Keybindings->context trackview Scroll down to automatic crossfades and add the key binding for the shortcut of your choice.

Try searching Crossfades auto much more usefull and is pretty much the convention that mossst search engines use. The broad term is crossfades and auto is a sub type. many menu optins have changes and are now localised to tabs in the various views. if you look in the track view where crossfades would be applied and look under options you'll fond alls orts of crossfade option to try out. They go hand in hand with what happens when you select and or cut a track or clip. As far as shortcuts go there is a 9 page list of them if you Press F1 for help and access the Index Tab. Enter Keyboard Shorcuts - you'll get those 9 pages. They're organized according to the general page or view type where that shortcut is active.. Hope that helps for this question and others. If you check out ba-midi he has a page where you can download a more formalised list of the shortcuts -organised again by page in 3 duplexed landscaped pages done as a color pdf that you can porint out and laminate for a ready reference on your desktop. You'll have to go through those pages to find what you want but I'pm not sure its there. I think that it comes in via another menu as respects setting autiomatic crossfades when cutting a clip/track. Anyway I hope I've provided you with a more substantial starting point for your request.

thanks mudgel, I'll search ba-midi, don't know that. The problem with the X shortcut is that is not assigned anymore, so I've got to manually bind it, it's done tahnks jimknopf, but it'll be handfull to print that short cut list indeed, the 9 pages in the F1 was the 1st thing I read when launching the first time and it's a bit too long. thanks for that dd

I re-assigned mine back to the old "X" and am now using "Y" for aim assist. I REALLY miss the icon that would tell me if crossfade was on or off. I am constantly switching it on and off.

I REALLY miss the icon that would tell me if crossfade was on or off. I am constantly switching it on and off. Me too! sometimes I want it on... sometimes off... and now I can't tell what state it's in. I'm doing far too many Ctrl-Zs to undo the unintended crossfades (or not).
