Line 6 Toneport UX8

I got my UX8 about a week ago.  Right out of the box I noticed that I could hear a dry guitar signal behind ANY preset or any tone I would create.  This is quite the annoyance since it only happens on one channel.  (Main out or line out). This happens in Pod Farm 2, Gearbox, and when I'm using these two apps as VST's in Sonar.  Surely this isn't normal.    When I try to go into Line 6's sound control panel it just brings up Windows Audio devices "Sound" tab which has nothing to do with configuring the UX8.  Has anyone else had these problems?  I'm no stranger to home recording and I'm usually pretty handy with a work-around but this has got me frustrated.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jason

Line 6 has a forum.  May be best to post there for the Line 6 problems.

I don't have the UX8, but I've been checking out the manual.
It looks like you have direct monitoring on input 1/2, as well as the sound with effects. Inputs 9/10 and 11/12 (virtual) seem to be the key.
Read through the section on Gearbox and Audio Routing. At least that's something to start with.

I've been using inputs 9/10, at least in Sonar.  I can't get into the sound control panel when using gearbox or Pod Farm 2 to tell it to use those inputs because when I click on it it just brings up the "Windows Audio Devices" window.  For now I have to assume the problem lies with the sound control panel.  Line 6 monkey tells me I'm fully updated.  I don't know.  I'll keep poking around at it and let you guys know what I find.

    Thank you for your responses

O.K.      I've been plugging in to the front "Instrument One" input and routing to the processed 9/10 inputs and out accordingly.  What I didn't know was that even though I'm using 9/10 as my inputs I'm still supposed to mute inputs 1/2 as they still recieve the unprocessed signal.  Muting them gets rid of the dry signal behind all the presets and custom tones.                                        Freakin' mute....

    Pardon my ignorance
