best orchestral strings for sonar

Hi there- Can anybody recommend a great symphony vst for sonar 8.5.3. I need great string sounds that run super stable on win 7 64-bit. I've got kontakt playing well with omnisphere, and stylus. Is there a good library I should add to kontakt, or should I go with something separate? Thanks for any tips.

How much do you want to spend? The price range runs from several hundred to several thousand.

    Miroslav Orchestra
    Kirk Hunter Strings
    LA Scoring Strings
    East West Hollywood Strings
    Vienna Symphonic Library

right- good question. probably the mid range. I'm mostly concerned with stability. The sample quality will be fine for me. Are you saying all those you listed are reliable in sonar?

Another decent one that I use is Motu's Symphonic Instruments. But Garritan is much nicer

LA Scoring Strings is pretty good and it works with Kontakt.

But make sure you check Vienna Symphonic Lybary stuff also.

The only one I'm familiar with as having issues with Sonar is the East West library. They use their own proprietary player called PLAY and some folks have had issues with it. Some of the others run in Kontakt so there shouldn't be any issues there. Garritan uses its own ARIA player, but I haven't heard anything bad about it. There is a substantial qualitative difference between say, the Garritan library, and LASS or VSL. Listen to all the demos and see how much your wallet can handle.

There is a few days left on this group buy of Kirk Hunter's excelent Rock and Pop Strings.

It's worth a look for $125.  It runs in Kontakt player and is more versatile than the "Rock and Pop" title suggests. Check out the KVR thread for more information. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=304789

I have EW Symphonic Orchestra and LASS.
EWSO has a lot of instruments, but it is less realistic than LASS, particularly for the legato management and the solo instruments quality (I love the solo cello from lass). EWSO is quite demanding when you activate the convolution reverb, I was not able to use it when I was working on my ex-laptopn (duocore 2ghz).
With lass, I don't use the kontakt convolution reverb, but the reverberate one.
EW also offers Hollywood Strings, but it's more expensive and there's no solo instrument unfortunately.
