crashing on open

Been a while since I 've recorded but here we go - I did about 6 tunes midi's w/1 audio track w/vocals on them on my LAPTOP (all synths & audio files are on a portable drive)
Today I've hooked up my desktop to work on, but when I try to open the files sonar crashes...& then I lose my Edirol soundcard drivers so I have to reboot - maybe twice I was able to open a project w/vocals but for the mostpart CRASH
Anyone have an idea or two??? Bad enuff I'm on dialup -

LAPTOP -Pavilion G6 -Quad core - Acoustics -  Takamine ,1948 Martin - Variax 59 & 69-HD500 - PodHD500 - Bose L1 Model II w2 bass bins - T1 Mixer - Voicelive 3

    Did you try safe mode?

    yup ..tried that - just tried a few things and it seems that anything that had vvocal edits crashes it -SOOOOO I tried a new file & as soon as I tried to put in VVocal crashhhhh

    Ouch!

    Do a search for VVocal :-(

    solution...re-install sonar worked
